Lisburn Cross.

Lisburn, on the banks of the River Lagan, was a prosperous and important linen center in the 19th century. Half the linen output of the province of Ulster came from this area at this time. Linen weaving was brought to Lisburn by Huguenots, who fled France from religious persecution. The industry grew until it became a part of the famous "linen triangle" that was formed by Belfast, Armagh and Dungannon. Knotwork expresses the concept that all things are interconnected. The central circle represents the holy trinity.

 From: Co. Antrim, Ireland

Dimensions: 7½" x 4"

Due to the hand casting and proprietary staining process, each of my plaques is unique. Each cross comes with a hanger embedded in the stone. The cross comes with a descriptive tag describing the original stone, explanation of the design or information on where the cross is located.
